Here is an article that gives sound advice on how to support your child as a learner: It was shared by a colleague at school and after reading it I thought I'd pass it along. How to Enrich a Child's Education A second resource, Bedtime Math , gives you a problem to solve each day. These are fun, based in real life, and accompanied by a story.  They have three levels to answer questions at so are appropriate for ages 4-14!  They also have a free app...good to have on your phone at bedtime to foster great problem solving discussions - they are fun! Conference Time?

We are really coming together as a strong group of learners in Mr. Madden's class!  We are learning together as a result of improving communication skills, having empathy for classmates, working independently, and using practicing the strategies we are learning. EVERYONE is growing in so many productive ways. We are also earning tally marks toward another stuffed animal day by following expected behaviors (safe, responsible, respectful). Please remember the following: Please sign up for a   Family Conference Time  - this is an important time to check in with each other about goals and growth. Picture day is Friday, 10/13 at 8:40am (tomorrow) No school on Friday, October 20th. Continue to check the shared folder that contains all the pictures and videos  I'm cataloguing from our time together in school. We are about to start unit 2 in math - Please find the parent letters in the Resources and Links section of this blog.

Book Orders = Help Our Class Library!

Important Information: Please sign up for a   Family Conference Time Picture day is 10/13 at 8:40am No school on Friday, October 20th. The SCS library is finally open!  We checked out books today so make sure your child brings them back to school for next Thursday....and treat them as borrowed books. Next possible pajama day could be earned on November 3rd. If they can sustain independent reading each day...
